Tail-lift delivery — no dock, no problem.

Luton vans, curtain-sides and rigid trucks with tail-lifts, for sites that don't have a loading bay.

The job stops when the pallet can't get off the truck. Capital Logistics runs a mixed fleet of tail-lift-equipped vehicles — Luton box-body vans and 14 t and 18 t curtain-side rigids — so that retail outlets, hotels, exhibition halls, residential addresses and small industrial units without a forklift or loading dock can still take a palletised consignment.

When you need a tail-lift

Most distribution centres have a level loading dock or a forklift on-site. Most high-street shops, exhibition stands, hotels, restaurants, building sites and residential deliveries don't. A tail-lift turns any delivery point into a working bay — the driver lowers the pallet to street level, walks it off with a pallet truck, and the job is done. Without a tail-lift, the load goes back on the truck.

The Capital tail-lift fleet

We operate column tail-lifts on our Luton vans (faster cycle, lighter loads up to 1,000 kg) and cantilever tail-lifts on our 14 t and 18 t curtain-sides (full-pallet 1,000 kg+ capacity, side-loaded then walked to the rear). Every driver is trained in tail-lift safe operation and carries a manual pallet truck.
